Mike Shaughnessy
VP of Corporate Strategy
Mike Shaughnessy joined Unified Construction Group as Vice President of Corporate Strategy in April 2025. With a proven track record of strategic leadership and operational insight, Mike brings experience from across both the private sector and the military.
Before joining Unified, Mike spent seven years at U.S. Pavement, where he held various roles before landing in his role as President during the final two years of his tenure. His leadership there was marked by a focus on sustainable growth and organizational efficiency.
Prior to his corporate career, Mike served four years in the U.S. Army as a logistics officer, where he developed strong leadership skills and an understanding of complex operational systems. He holds a degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Known for his ability to see the big picture, Mike excels at aligning business strategy with long-term vision. At Unified, he will play key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and identifying new opportunities.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I have two young kids- two and four years old- so much of my weekend is spent with them and taking my oldest to hockey practice. He just started playing and loves it! Other than that, I am a big Boston sports fan and enjoy playing golf so I like to watch the games and get out on the course when I can.
What is a fun fact about you?
I have run the Boston Marathon three times. Each time was an awesome experience.
What is your dream vacation?
I grew up going to Cape Cod and I still really like going there in the summer. I've also been on multiple trips to Hawaii and absolutely love it so an extended Hawaii vacation with the family would be awesome!
