Jay Grieves
CEO
Jay has 25 years of commercial construction experience in the Boston Market. After graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology, he started his career with a mid-sized Construction Management firm filling roles as both a Superintendent and Project Manager.
Taking advantage of the opportunity to start his own construction company, Jay started Unified Construction Group in 2015 as an outlet to implement years of knowledge to change the demolition business in the New England construction market.
What was the driving force that made you want to start Unified Construction Group seven years ago?
Having had a previous business that was similar in nature and seeing the opportunities it presented, along with having the right people to be on the team, starting Unified was a clear choice.
What has been the most rewarding part of owning your own subcontractor construction company?
I would say the most rewarding thing has been the collaboration amongst team members resulting in a winning environment. There is nothing more rewarding than waking up every morning with a smile on my face as I drive to the office anxious to get after it with some of the best people I know.
When you’re not running a successful construction company, how do you like to spend your time?
With family. Traveling together at any opportunity or going to the various sports games the kids are involved with. Aside from family time, its golfing or enjoying the ocean water up on Cape Ann- on a warm August day there is no better place.
